Help! I’ve been Waitlisted.

Being waitlisted doesn’t necessarily mean rejection. It just means that the school had way more incredible, qualified applicants than they knew what to do with!

But while you’re giving them space, is there anything to do? Um, yes!

Respond right away!

Yes, your feelings might be hurt, but it’s time to swallow your pride and follow the instructions provided in the waitlist notification. Some colleges may ask you to confirm your interest in remaining on the waitlist. Do that ASAP.

Keep showing interest.

If this is your first choice school, let them know!

Schools want to know if you are really planning to attend. Consider writing a polite and sincere letter to the admissions office expressing your continued interest. Share any relevant updates, such as new achievements or activities since you submitted your application.

Keep up your grades.

Chances are admissions offices will look at your academic performance during this time. Don’t give up!

Seek guidance. Hint hint.

Reach out to a counselor or advisor for guidance. They can provide insights into your specific situation and help you decide on the best course of action.

Remember, everything is going to be ok.

If you’re a believer that everything happens for a reason, now’s the time to make it your daily mantra. Stay positive. Focus on your current academic and extracurricular activities, and be open to the possibility of attending other fabulous institutions!
