Emma T.

I attended Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, where I graduated as valedictorian. During high school, I discovered passions for political and historical research, physics, and jazz. I’m currently a student at Dartmouth College and intend to study Quantitative Social Science to combine my interests in math and government.
I started tutoring elementary and high school students about two years ago, but I have worked with elementary-aged students as a volunteer teacher’s assistant or camp counselor for five years. My goal as a tutor is more than helping students understand the different components of mathematical, scientific, or writing concepts—it also to foster confidence and curiosity, ensuring students are equipped and excited to tackle whatever they learn about next. Beyond tutoring and schoolwork, I spend most of my time cheering for the Dodgers, playing basketball, hiking, or finding new tunes to play on the bass.
